Common Engineering Questions

Answers to questions we hear most from engineers, procurement teams, and research labs.

There is no fixed minimum. We synthesise from 0.1 g for proof-of-concept to 5 kg production batches. Milligram-scale feasibility runs are available for novel or complex structures where route optimisation is required before scale-up. Pricing is quoted per batch including characterisation.
Yes. Retrofit crane projects require a structural assessment of existing runway beams before proceeding. We perform FEA of the existing beam under new crane loads (IS 3177 load cases) and determine whether the beams are adequate or require strengthening. We then design the bridge and crab to match the existing rail gauge and bay geometry. All retrofits are documented with full IS 3177 compliance records.
A typical SPM project timeline: Enquiry → Technical proposal (5 days) → Design freeze (3–4 weeks) → Fabrication (8–14 weeks) → Factory Acceptance Test (1 week) → Site commissioning (1–2 weeks). Total: 14–20 weeks. Complex multi-station transfer machines or lines may take 24–36 weeks. We provide a detailed Gantt chart at proposal stage.
Yes — always. Every custom chemical batch ships with a full CoA including: HPLC chromatogram (purity trace with peak area %), ¹H NMR spectrum with peak assignments, ¹³C NMR where appropriate, HRMS exact mass confirmation (≤5 ppm), and TGA/DSC thermal data where relevant. Raw instrument files (JCAMP-DX, mzXML) are available on request.
Absolutely. We sign mutual NDAs before receiving any confidential technical information. Our standard NDA covers: all technical data shared, synthesis routes developed, design drawings, and project existence. NDA turnaround is same-day. We hold no IP rights over client designs or molecules — all work-product belongs to the client.
All precision parts are designed and inspected per GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2018). Dimensional inspection is performed on a Zeiss Contura G2 CMM with full CMM report. Surface roughness measured per ISO 1302 / Ra values per IS 3073. Material certificates (mill test reports per IS 2062, EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2) are provided. We comply with customer-specified standards including ASME, DIN, BS, ISO, IS, and MIL-SPEC on request.
Yes. Chemical shipments are packed in UN-approved containers with full GHS-compliant SDS and IATA / ADR compliant labelling. Export-controlled compounds require verified end-user certificates per applicable regulations (REACH, TSCA). Precision parts and machines are exported as standard manufactured goods. Customs documentation (invoice, packing list, COO) provided for all international shipments.
