Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/DFMA)
DFM review ensures every feature is manufacturable at the specified tolerance. Common DFM violations caught: blind holes requiring special tools, undercuts in moulded parts, thin walls below casting limits, tolerance stack-ups exceeding gauge capability. DFMA reduces part count and assembly time.

Check: minimum tool access, minimum bore depth/dia ratio (<4:1), internal corner radii ≥ 1/3 tool dia, no features requiring re-setup on 3-axis machine.

⚠ DFM Casting

Draft angles ≥ 2°, uniform wall thickness ±20%, fillet radii ≥ 2mm, no sharp internal corners (stress risers), gate/riser locations planned during CAD.
